They were: * Mark Curriden, a reporter and editor at The Times who covers legal issues. * John Gerome, a Times reporter and editor who covers local government. * Heather Smith, a reporter for The Times whose beat includes small cities. * Pam Sohn, a senior general assignment reporter at The Times who often writes about federal courts and has been covering the FBI investigation into the police department. * Stephynie Chapman, a journalism professor at UTC who works on special projects at The Times. * Glenn Augustine, a senior reporter at WTVC, News Channel 9. * Steve Hunsicker, assignment editor at News Channel 9. * Richard Simms, news operations manager at News Channel 9.
